Ostatnio coś dziwnego zaczęło się dziać z moim pc, mianowicie zdarza mu się zawieszać (dużo) częściej niż zwykle i to z bliżej nieokreślonych przyczyn.
Jest to chyba problem ze sprzętem, bo komp zawiesza się zarówno podczas pod Debianem jak i pod windowsem (choć pod xpkiem częściej), a zwis poprzedza dziwny dźwięk przypominający jakby pyknięcie przechodzące w syknięcie/cichy pisk dochodzący chyba z okolic dysków, po którym lampka dysku twardego zapala się na kilka sekund, żeby zgasnąć, a po następnej chwili system przestaje odpowiadać na cokolwiek innego niż przycisk reset. Dzieje się to w różnych odstępach czasu, i nie udało mi się dokładnie tego zjawiska odtworzyć, ale pod linuksem przynajmniej wywala z x'ów zostawiając na ekranie komunikat:

jednak nadal nie da się nic zrobić poza zresetowaniem, a gdy system już jest zawieszony lampa dysku twardego świeci się stale.
Czy jeszcze gdzieś w systemie są jakieś logi z tego zdarzenia, nie wiem, bo szczerze mówiąc nie za bardzo wiem w których lodach szukać.
Miał ktoś może podobną sytuację? Bo w sumie mam nadzieję, że nie siada mi jeden z dysków, jak przypuszczam sądząc po odgłosach poprzedzających zawieszenie się..

Radzę zapuścić na dysku smarta i wkleić wynik tutaj:
smartctl --test=short /dev/sda a potem smartctl --all /dev/sda (czy jaki tam masz ten dysk)
Stawiałbym osobiści bardziej na dysk niż procka - choć i w tym drugim przypadku jest możliwość że się mąci coś (np zacierający się wiatraczek i problem gotowy) - dobrze było by monitorować temperaturę.
Jeszcze zapytam - jak już się wiesi, to potem po resecie normalnie wstaje czy też jakieś problemy są?

W sumie mam 2 dyski, dla pewności zrobiłem test na obu, choć wydaje mi się, że tylko z tym pierwszym ( /dev/sda - tym 120GB na którym w sumie mam zainstalowane oba systemy) są jakieś problemy.

Hmmm powiem tak - na 100% coś jest z pierwszym dyskiem nie tak, zgodnie z tym:

wartości "value" powinny być równe lub poniżej "threshold" aby można było mówić o usterce - z tego co widzę wszystkie wartości są jeszcze normalne, co z kolei o niczym nie musi świadczyć bo SMART na tym dysku może po prostu nie monitorować tego co się pierdzieli...
Dziwi mnie trochę fakt że zanotowane przez SMART błędy wystąpiły w 2617 godzinie życia dysku, a obecnie dysk pracuje już 24994 godzin, co by oznaczało że jakieś błędy wystąpiły dobre 2-2.5 roku temu... a rozumiem że problemy z kompem zaczęły dziać się niedawno... trochę to nie trzyma się kupy...
Jak wygląda sprawa kabli/taśm od dysku? Nowe/stare poskręcane? Może tam leży problem? Jak możesz przetestuj na jakiejś innej szelce.
EDIT:
Jeszcze mógłbyś zapuścić test off-line:
smartctl -t offline /dev/sda
+ ewentualnie long-test:
smartctl --test=long /dev/hda
po teście offline zmianie może ulec to:

Temat w sumie rozwiązany.
Kupiłem nowy kabel + w międzyczasie zrobiłem te testy(choć jak porównywałem wyniki, to były takie same jak .. i jak usterka była, tak ostatnio nawet już co chwilę zaczęło pykać i dopiero po szturchnięciu dysk zaczynał pracować normalnie. Jeszcze odnośnie tego wstawania, to tu problemów nie ma. Natomiast podczas wyłączania (nawet jak pyknie raz, a kompa wyłączam jakąś godzinę później) to sie wieszał. Niby go przeskanowałem, na obecność bad sektorów, wszystko niby w porządku..
Sory, że dopiero teraz daje odpowiedź, ale nie miałem ostatnio za dużo czasu.
A problem w sumie rozwiąże się do końca we wtorek, jak przyjdzie nowy pc..

Taśmy wymieniłem, oraz uruchomiłem Live CD i uruchomiłem
fsck.ext3 -p -c
przychodzi mi jeszcze do głowy:
1. Reset Biosu do ustawień domyślnych
Szkoda że błąd z Kernel Panic nigdzie się nie zapisał, przynajmniej ja go nie znalazłem.
A i jeszcze wykonałem memtesta.
Co jeszcze mogę zrobić?
