Ogólnie ten problem jest spowodowany tym, że różne sterowniki tworzą różne nazwy modułów (nvidia / nvidia-current). Najpopularniejszy jest nvidia, ale chyba wypiera się tę nazwę
Najlepiej to używać Nouveau - zero problemów (zazwyczaj :D)

Z drugiej strony nie byłoby 90% postów typu "coś nie działa" - w Nouveau jeszcze nie zdarzyło się, by coś nie działało
Ofc. jest mało wydajne, ofc. jeszcze nawet parę lat pracy, ale wierzę, że pozbędziemy się kolejnego zamkniętego crapwaru z rynku pingwina (tzn. chodzi mi o crapware, który jest niezbędny dla ludzkości)

nie wiem dlaczego, ale z -vv działa, z -v jeszcze nie. Przecież:
-v, --verbose increase the verbosity level of log messages. It can be specified up to two times (or five if --quiet is used)

RESETUJESZ laptopa i powinno dzialac (pojecie wzgledne bo juz .run narozrabial)
# aptitude --purge '~i nvidia'
Sprawdzasz vrms
# apt-get install vrms
czy cos zostalo z nvidia i usuwasz recznie.
Sprawdzasz pilota ;
$ grep -B2 'Module class: X.Org Video Driver' /var/log/Xorg.0.log
I Wszystko wiesz. :)

Poczytalem tez logi i dziala na 50% (problem z Gnome) duzo ludzi uzywa fallback a nie Shell. Poza tym wydaje mi sie, ze ma zainstalowane 2 sterowniki nvidia.

Nie wiadomo czy nie ma włączonej synchronizacji. Wtedy ten wynik jest prawidłowy.
Autor wątku nie sygnalizował problemów z powolnym działaniem nvidii.
I tak ide do okulisty ale nie widze w jego instalacji linux-headers

Bez nagłówków nie skompilował by się moduł nvidii…
Poza tym w instrukcji instalacji jądra były podane również nagłówki.
Nie wiem do czego zmierzasz.
Jak autor będzie miał z czymś jeszcze problem, do napisze sam.
Chyba nagle nie utracił umiejętności pisania.
