Witam.
Posiadam netbook Acer 756.
Zainstalowałem debiana stable amd64, wcześniej miałem na nim multum dystrybucji z którymi nie miałem tego problemu. Sęk w tym, że co jakiś czas (2-10 min.) rozłącza mi się sieć na minutkę lub dwie i łączy się z powrotem. Próbowałem przez wicd lub przez network-menager-gnome ale z takim samym skutkiem. Posiadam środowisko graficzne MATE.

Akurat podane przez ciebie repozytorium może narobić więcej szkód w wersji stabilnej, niż pożytku.
Lepiej zainstalować z backportów lub z aptosida.

W ogóle nieparzyste wersje nadal dziwnie się zachowują.
Z 3.7 był problem z Alsą, w 3.5 chyba z zarządzaniem energii (jeżeli dobrze pamiętam).
