Mam laptopa ThinkPad Lenovo T60p - 32 bit. Aktualnie ma on 2x1 GB pamieci RAM. Na tylnej obudowie laptopa mam:
TYPE - 2008 - 87G.
Chcialem popracowac troche nad wirtualizacja ale to wymaga wiekszej ilosci RAM-u. Minimalnie 2 GB dla OS "gospodarza" i 2 GB dla OS "goscia"
To zdanie:
Note: Only 64-bit operating systems support more than 3GB of system memory (RAM). Intel Chipsets 945GM and 945PM do not support more than 3GB system memory (RAM), even when a 64-bit operating system is installed.
Recommended for memory expansion are 2 GB PC2-4200 DDR2 SDRAM 533 MHz SO DIMM or 256 MB, 512 MB, and 1 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667 MHz SO DIMM.

Pytanie:
a/ - czy moj chipset moze pracowac z 4 GB RAM-u?
b/ - jakie polecenie w konsoli powie najwiecej o chipsecie?
c/ - jak sprawdzic "stan" albo "jakosc" zamontowanej pamieci RAM? Tylko "Memtest86" czy sa jakies polecenia konsolowe?
Chyba sam znalazlem odpowiedz:

Prawdopodobnie takie:
su -c "hwinfo --bridge"
c/ - jak sprawdzic "stan" albo "jakosc" zamontowanej pamieci RAM? Tylko "Memtest86" czy sa jakies polecenia konsolowe?
Podaj wynik:
su -c "dmidecode -t memory"

Jak to jest, komendy z konsoli mowia o 4 GB a ta strona: http://www.kingston.com/en/memory/search/Default.as … p;Model=35143 - o 3 GB. I badz tu czlowieku madry
Moje powyzsze wnioski sa chyba jednak bledne i moge max 3 GB RAM-u, poniewaz:
Zdanie:
Note: Only 64-bit operating systems support more than 3GB of system memory (RAM). Intel Chipsets 945GM and 945PM do not support more than 3GB system memory (RAM), even when a 64-bit operating system is installed.
ze strony: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=MIGR-62722
koresponduje z:
Intel Core Duo / Intel 945GM
ze strony: http://www.kingston.com/en/memory/search/Default.as … p;Model=35143
a konsola mowi ze:
00:01.0 PCI bridge [0604]: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/PM/GMS, 943/940GML
Razem 3 GB. /troche malo na VT/
Chyba jednak nie moge 3 GB bo:
MODULES MUST BE ORDERED AND INSTALLED IN PAIRS for Dual Channel mode.

@Bitels.
Masz racje.

@qluk
Spokojnych i zdrowych Swiat.

E tam minimalnie 2GB dla gospodarza i 2G dla gościa....
Ja mam 4G ( 2x2GB 800Mhz) i nie wykorzystuje tyle pamięci a więcej wykorzystuje procka. Pamięci dla więcej zasobozernych systemow (gości) daje max 1.5G a moj system (gospodarz) zżera 512MB-1G.
Wcześniej miałem 2G i tez sie pracowało 1G dla gościa...

Moge sie mylic, bo dopiero zaczynam poznawac wirtualizacje.
Jaka kompilacja "gospodarz" a "gosc" jest Twoim zdaniem optymalna?
Bylbym zapomnial, czy taki wpis:
MODULES MUST BE ORDERED AND INSTALLED IN PAIRS for Dual Channel mode.
oznacza w moim przypadku ze moge dac:
a/ do jednego slota 2GB a do drugiego 1 GB ?
b/ kosci w obydwu slotach musza byc identyczne?
c/ moge uzywac tylko jednego slota?
