dziekuje za podpowiedzi - zainstalowalem nowe sterowniki ze strony ati - modprobe  zaladowal fglrx(przynajmniej nie zglosil bledu) jednak glxinfo dalej nie dziala- odpalilem starsze jadro- i ku mojemu zdumieniu tutaj rowniez nie ma akceleracji - bardzo bym prosil o wytlumaczenie mi "jak to dziala" a po drugie jak sprawdzic czy przy starcie laduje sie ten nieszczesny fglrx?

Akceleracji na tym jądrze nie uświadczysz bo:

drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0
drmOpenByBusid: drmOpenMinor returns -1

itp. A powinno mówić, że jest OK, a tu otwiera z jakimś błądkiem zdaje się.

Wbuduj sobie na stałe w jądro to: (albo załaduj moduł, oczywiście przed uruchomieniem X)

Bo coś podobnego miałem w logu i znaczyło tyle, że nie miałem obsługi DRM w jądrze.

witajcie- odczekalem zgodnie z wasza rada az do nastepnej edycji sterownikow- niestety po instalacji problem nie zniknal- jedyna roznica polega na tym ze modprobe fglrx nie wyzuca bledu- bede wdzieczny za kazda sugestie- do NIC: modprobe fglrx przed startem serwera x nie dalo efektu- jak rozumiem o to ci chodzilo.

wykonalem update firmware jest w wersji 0.18 - brak poprawy

problem wreszcie został rozwiązany poprzez:1) reinstalacje xorg 2) aktualizacje firmware-linux 3) instalacje sterownikow ati w wersji 9.9 - bardzo dziekuje wszystkim za rady

stąd można chyba wnioskować, że problem od początku leżał po stronie x-serwera. tak z ciekawości: czy nie miałeś wcześniej karty firmy nvidia?
