Zauważyłem że aticonfig --initial dodaje swoje 3 grosze do tego pliku ale nei kasuje z niego informacji starych i mam zarówno ati jak i fglrx. Wszystko po 2 razy razem z monitorem itd...

Spróbuj po prostu przeinstalować instalatorem ze strony ati jak nie pójdzie upewnij sie że masz w systemie pakiety dev xorga(nie doczytałem).

Dokładnie, powinno byc chyba 8 bo kiedys jakims cudem na poprzednim systemie udało mi sie za jakimś restartem uzyskać akceleracje (i było chyba 8) lecz była ona tylko do kolejngeo restaru :-/

Nie mam 64bit ale u kumpla jest tak:

Ja mam radka 9700 PRO i fglrx działa bez problemoo. Co prawda dziwi mnie jak ati mogło zrobić sterowniki bez obsługi pivota - jakaś lipa potworna, bo nvidia to robi odkąd pamiętam.
Instalowałem według przepisu na DUG z repozytoriów.
A nie robiłeś apgrejdu z Sarge'a na Sid'a? Ja jak kiedyś upgradeowałem, to miałem straszny bałagan w systemie i przeróżne funkcje nie wiedzić czemu nie chciały chodzić. Pomogło dopiero wycięcie wszystkiego i ponowna instalacja.
