[SOLVED] Problem z wirtualnymi terminalami

Początek edycji z 31. września 2014:
Udało mi się naprawić problem.
Rozwiązanie polegało na wejściu do shella z GRUBa, wpisaniu dwóch komend:

Kod:

set pager=1
vbeinfo

a następnie odnalezieniu odpowiedniej rozdzielczości ekranu, zapisaniu (np. na kartce) liczby na początku w wybranej pozycji wraz z "vga=", na przykład "vga=0x111".
Potem trzeba wyjść z shella (Esc), zbootować Linuxa, przejść do katalogu /etc/grub.d, otworzyć "10-linux.conf" w edytorze tekstu, odnaleźć linijki z kernelem i dodać wcześniej zapisanego argumentu na koniec tej linijki. Potem tylko reboot i już można przełączać terminale z X-ów.

Co do powodu problemu, to jest nim opcja UseTiming1366 potrzebna do poprawnego działania X-ów na SiS 771/671.
Koniec edycji z 31. września 2014.

Od razu przejdę do problemu:
Nie mogę przełączyć się z X na wirtualny terminal.
Gdy nacisnę Ctrl+Alf+F[1-6], ekran na ułamek sekundy staje się czarny, potem "zacina się", a po 1-2 sekundach restartuje się  X.org, oczywiście nie przenosząc mnie do wirtualnego terminala, lecz pozostawiając mnie przy okienku do logowania.

Gdy próbuję przełączyć na vt używając komendy chvt, otrzymuję następujący błąd:

Chvt powoduje ten sam problem jak Ctrl+Alt+F[1-6], gdy zostanie włączony kontem root.

Bardzo prosiłbym o pomoc w zdiagnozowaniu błędu.

Edit: To na pewno problem z Xem, ponieważ po zbootowaniu kernela z opcją "init=/bin/sh" mogę przełączać terminal i używając chvt i Ctrl+Alt+F[1-6].
